DBS Bank: PDF bank statement to XLSX or CSV

A DBS Bank PDF bank statement becomes an Excel sheet in three moves: download the PDF from DBS Bank, open it in Satr, then export XLSX or CSV. Your file is processed locally and never sent to a server.

About DBS Bank statements

Customers of DBS Bank in Singapore typically get their bank statement as a PDF, and that PDF is what Satr reads.

DBS Bank runs its head office from Singapore. The bank's web address is dbs.com.sg.

Getting the PDF out of DBS Bank

Open the bank statement area of DBS Bank online banking or its app, select the account and the date range, then save or export the result as PDF. Where exactly this sits depends on the bank's current design, so follow the labels on your own screen.

Text PDFs, scans and password-protected files

A PDF that you download from online banking normally has a real text layer, and Satr can read its rows. You can test this by trying to select text in the PDF.

A PDF made by scanning paper, or a screenshot saved as PDF, holds pictures only. Satr cannot read pictures, so get the original PDF from online banking.

Locked with a password? Type it into Satr when asked. The password is used on your device to unlock the file and goes nowhere else.

How Singapore amounts and dates are handled

In Singapore, amounts are normally written in SGD (S$); the decimal mark is a dot (.) and the thousands separator is a comma (,). You will usually see dates written as DD/MM/YYYY or DD Mon YYYY.

Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.

In our checks Satr read these patterns correctly; the mapper still lets you switch the number format if a file differs.

Using the Excel file in Xero and QuickBooks

Many people in Singapore work with Xero and QuickBooks. You can map the Excel or CSV columns in the import screen of those programs; Satr has no integration with them and does not claim any.

What has been tested

No statement from DBS Bank has been tested individually yet.

The parser is generic and reads text-based PDFs. Layouts we have tested so far: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).

Satr is not affiliated with DBS Bank and is not endorsed by it.

No upload: how your DBS Bank file is handled

Nothing in your statement is uploaded. Satr runs inside your browser tab, so the PDF, the rows and the exported file stay on your device.
