What to expect from your Macquarie Bank statement
If you bank with Macquarie Bank in Australia, the PDF bank statement is the file you start from; Satr turns its transaction table into a spreadsheet.
Macquarie Bank is listed as a privately owned bank. The bank is headquartered in Sydney. Founded in 1969.
How to get the PDF bank statement from Macquarie Bank
Ask Macquarie Bank online banking for the bank statement of the account and period you need and download it as a PDF. If a PDF is not offered, the branch or the bank's support can usually provide one.
Which PDFs work
PDF statements generated by a bank system contain selectable text. Those are the files Satr is built for.
Scanned pages and photos saved as PDF are images. Satr does not do OCR, so it will tell you there is no text.
Password-protected PDFs open after you type the password in your browser. Neither the password nor the file goes to a server.
Reading Australia amounts and dates
Statements in Australia usually show amounts in AUD ($) with a dot (.) as the decimal mark and a comma (,) as the thousands separator. A typical date format is DD/MM/YYYY or DD Mon YYYY.
Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.
Satr recognised these number and date patterns in our own checks, and you can still change the number format and column roles before exporting.
Importing into accounting software
Many people in Australia work with Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks. You can map the Excel or CSV columns in the import screen of those programs; Satr has no integration with them and does not claim any.
Status of Macquarie Bank in Satr
Macquarie Bank has not been individually tested with Satr.
The parser is generic and reads text-based PDFs. Layouts we have tested so far: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).
