Working with your First Abu Dhabi Bank PDF

If you bank with First Abu Dhabi Bank in United Arab Emirates, the PDF bank statement is the file you start from; Satr turns its transaction table into a spreadsheet.

First Abu Dhabi Bank runs its head office from Abu Dhabi. Its website domain is bankfortheuae.com. The local name بنك أبوظبي الأول can appear at the top of the statement.

Where to find the PDF at First Abu Dhabi Bank

Sign in to First Abu Dhabi Bank online banking or the app and look for the bank statement, e-statement or account activity section. Pick the account and the period, and choose PDF as the format. Menu names differ by bank and change over time, so use the PDF option your own screen offers.

PDF types Satr can read

A PDF that you download from online banking normally has a real text layer, and Satr can read its rows. You can test this by trying to select text in the PDF.

A scan or a photo of a paper statement has no text layer, and Satr has no OCR, so it cannot read it. Download the PDF again from online banking instead.

Locked with a password? Type it into Satr when asked. The password is used on your device to unlock the file and goes nowhere else.

Formats used in United Arab Emirates statements

Amounts in United Arab Emirates statements are typically shown in AED (United Arab Emirates Dirham), using a dot (.) for decimals and a comma (,) to separate thousands. You will usually see dates written as DD/MM/YYYY or DD-Mon-YYYY.

Right-to-left text is read in logical order, with Latin words and digits kept intact. Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.

Satr recognised these number and date patterns in our own checks, and you can still change the number format and column roles before exporting.

Importing into accounting software

If you use Zoho Books, QuickBooks, and Tally, open the exported XLSX or CSV and match its columns in the program's import screen. There is no connection between Satr and these tools.
