Working with your Guaranty Trust Bank PDF
Customers of Guaranty Trust Bank in Nigeria typically get their bank statement as a PDF, and that PDF is what Satr reads.
Guaranty Trust Bank runs its head office from Lagos. You can find it online at gtbank.com.
Where to find the PDF at Guaranty Trust Bank
Sign in to Guaranty Trust Bank online banking or the app and look for the bank statement, e-statement or account activity section. Pick the account and the period, and choose PDF as the format. Menu names differ by bank and change over time, so use the PDF option your own screen offers.
PDF types Satr can read
PDF statements generated by a bank system contain selectable text. Those are the files Satr is built for.
A scan or a photo of a paper statement has no text layer, and Satr has no OCR, so it cannot read it. Download the PDF again from online banking instead.
Password-protected PDFs open after you type the password in your browser. Neither the password nor the file goes to a server.
Formats used in Nigeria statements
In Nigeria, amounts are normally written in NGN (₦); the decimal mark is a dot (.) and the thousands separator is a comma (,). Dates commonly look like DD/MM/YYYY or DD-Mon-YYYY.
Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.
Satr recognised these number and date patterns in our own checks, and you can still change the number format and column roles before exporting.
Importing into accounting software
Many people in Nigeria work with QuickBooks, Sage, and Zoho Books. You can map the Excel or CSV columns in the import screen of those programs; Satr has no integration with them and does not claim any.
