NatWest in United Kingdom

NatWest is a bank in United Kingdom, and its customers usually download a bank statement as a PDF from online banking or the mobile app.

The public list we used describes NatWest as a private bank. The source lists 1833 as its founding year.

Download your bank statement from NatWest as a PDF

In the NatWest app or website, open the account you need and look for a statement or transaction history option; if it can be saved as PDF, save it. We do not describe exact menus, because they change; search the help section of NatWest for “bank statement” if you cannot find it.

What the PDF must contain

When the bank generates the PDF itself, the text inside is real text, not a picture. Satr reads that text layer and rebuilds the rows from it.

Scanned pages and photos saved as PDF are images. Satr does not do OCR, so it will tell you there is no text.

Locked with a password? Type it into Satr when asked. The password is used on your device to unlock the file and goes nowhere else.

United Kingdom: numbers, dates and currency

Statements in United Kingdom usually show amounts in GBP (£) with a dot (.) as the decimal mark and a comma (,) as the thousands separator. You will usually see dates written as DD/MM/YYYY or DD Mon YYYY.

Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.

We checked sample values in these formats against the shipped parser and they were read correctly; you stay in control, because the number format can be changed in the preview.

Using the Excel file in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and FreeAgent

If you use Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and FreeAgent, open the exported XLSX or CSV and match its columns in the program's import screen. There is no connection between Satr and these tools.

Tested or not?

No statement from NatWest has been tested individually yet.

Satr reads text-based PDFs with a generic parser. So far we have tested these layouts: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).

Satr is an independent tool and is not affiliated with NatWest. The bank is named only so you know which PDF this page is about.

No upload: how your NatWest file is handled

Satr reads the file locally. There is no upload, no account, and nothing from the statement is stored on a server. You can confirm it with your browser's developer tools.

Questions

How do I turn my bank statement from NatWest into Excel?

Yes, if the PDF has a text layer. Download it from NatWest, open it in Satr, check the columns and export XLSX or CSV. The first 15 rows are free.

Does my NatWest PDF leave my device?

No. Satr opens the PDF in your browser, so your NatWest data never reaches a server.

Does NatWest endorse Satr?

No. Satr has no connection with NatWest; it is an independent converter.

My NatWest PDF is password-protected. What now?

Yes, if you know the password. Satr asks for it and uses it only to open the file on your device.

How are United Kingdom amounts and dates read?

Satr detects the number format from the file and shows it in the preview (a dot (.) as decimal mark, a comma (,) for thousands is typical in United Kingdom); you can switch it before exporting.

Can I import the NatWest Excel file into Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and FreeAgent?

You can map the exported columns in the import screen of those programs. Satr has no integration with them, so check the import rules of your own software.
