About AmBank statements
AmBank is a bank in Malaysia, and its customers usually download a bank statement as a PDF from online banking or the mobile app.
The bank is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur. You can find it online at ambankgroup.com.
Getting the PDF out of AmBank
Open the bank statement area of AmBank online banking or its app, select the account and the date range, then save or export the result as PDF. Where exactly this sits depends on the bank's current design, so follow the labels on your own screen.
Text PDFs, scans and password-protected files
A PDF that you download from online banking normally has a real text layer, and Satr can read its rows. You can test this by trying to select text in the PDF.
A PDF made by scanning paper, or a screenshot saved as PDF, holds pictures only. Satr cannot read pictures, so get the original PDF from online banking.
If the PDF is password-protected, Satr asks for the password and opens it locally; the password is not sent anywhere.
How Malaysia amounts and dates are handled
In Malaysia, amounts are normally written in MYR (RM); the decimal mark is a dot (.) and the thousands separator is a comma (,). A typical date format is DD/MM/YYYY or DD Mon YYYY.
Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.
We checked sample values in these formats against the shipped parser and they were read correctly; you stay in control, because the number format can be changed in the preview.
Using the Excel file in SQL Account, AutoCount, and QuickBooks
Many people in Malaysia work with SQL Account, AutoCount, and QuickBooks. You can map the Excel or CSV columns in the import screen of those programs; Satr has no integration with them and does not claim any.
What has been tested
AmBank is not in our list of individually tested banks.
Satr reads text-based PDFs with a generic parser. So far we have tested these layouts: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).
Satr is not affiliated with AmBank. AmBank is named only to describe the PDF you bring.
Privacy: nothing is uploaded
Satr reads the file locally. There is no upload, no account, and nothing from the statement is stored on a server. You can confirm it with your browser's developer tools.
