What to expect from your OCBC Malaysia statement
OCBC Malaysia is a bank in Malaysia, and its customers usually download a bank statement as a PDF from online banking or the mobile app.
The list we used marks OCBC Malaysia as a foreign bank in Malaysia.
How to get the PDF bank statement from OCBC Malaysia
Ask OCBC Malaysia online banking for the bank statement of the account and period you need and download it as a PDF. If a PDF is not offered, the branch or the bank's support can usually provide one.
Which PDFs work
A PDF that you download from online banking normally has a real text layer, and Satr can read its rows. You can test this by trying to select text in the PDF.
A PDF made by scanning paper, or a screenshot saved as PDF, holds pictures only. Satr cannot read pictures, so get the original PDF from online banking.
Password-protected PDFs open after you type the password in your browser. Neither the password nor the file goes to a server.
Reading Malaysia amounts and dates
Statements in Malaysia usually show amounts in MYR (RM) with a dot (.) as the decimal mark and a comma (,) as the thousands separator. Dates commonly look like DD/MM/YYYY or DD Mon YYYY.
Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.
We checked sample values in these formats against the shipped parser and they were read correctly; you stay in control, because the number format can be changed in the preview.
Importing into accounting software
Accounting packages used in Malaysia, such as SQL Account, AutoCount, and QuickBooks, let you import spreadsheet files. Export from Satr as XLSX or CSV and match the columns there; Satr is not connected to those programs.
Status of OCBC Malaysia in Satr
OCBC Malaysia has not been individually tested with Satr.
Satr works with text-based PDFs. Layouts tested so far: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).
Satr is an independent tool and is not affiliated with OCBC Malaysia. The bank is named only so you know which PDF this page is about.
