Working with your Bank of Maharashtra PDF

Customers of Bank of Maharashtra in India typically get their bank statement as a PDF, and that PDF is what Satr reads.

Bank of Maharashtra appears under state ownership in the list we checked. Its headquarters are in Pune. You can find it online at bankofmaharashtra.bank.in. Founded in 1935.

Where to find the PDF at Bank of Maharashtra

Sign in to Bank of Maharashtra online banking or the app and look for the bank statement, e-statement or account activity section. Pick the account and the period, and choose PDF as the format. Menu names differ by bank and change over time, so use the PDF option your own screen offers.

PDF types Satr can read

When the bank generates the PDF itself, the text inside is real text, not a picture. Satr reads that text layer and rebuilds the rows from it.

A PDF made by scanning paper, or a screenshot saved as PDF, holds pictures only. Satr cannot read pictures, so get the original PDF from online banking.

Locked with a password? Type it into Satr when asked. The password is used on your device to unlock the file and goes nowhere else.

Formats used in India statements

Statements in India usually show amounts in INR (₹) with a dot (.) as the decimal mark and a comma (,) as the thousands separator. A typical date format is DD/MM/YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY, or DD-Mon-YYYY.

Indian digit grouping such as 12,34,567.00 is common; Satr removes the commas correctly when it reads the number. Debit and credit can be marked with Dr and Cr after the amount; Satr reads Dr as a negative number. Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.

In our checks Satr read these patterns correctly; the mapper still lets you switch the number format if a file differs.

Importing into accounting software

If you use Tally, Zoho Books, and QuickBooks, open the exported XLSX or CSV and match its columns in the program's import screen. There is no connection between Satr and these tools.
