Working with your Charles Schwab PDF
If you bank with Charles Schwab in United States, the PDF bank statement is the file you start from; Satr turns its transaction table into a spreadsheet.
Its headquarters are in Westlake, Texas. Its website domain is schwab.com.
Where to find the PDF at Charles Schwab
Sign in to Charles Schwab online banking or the app and look for the bank statement, e-statement or account activity section. Pick the account and the period, and choose PDF as the format. Menu names differ by bank and change over time, so use the PDF option your own screen offers.
PDF types Satr can read
When the bank generates the PDF itself, the text inside is real text, not a picture. Satr reads that text layer and rebuilds the rows from it.
A PDF made by scanning paper, or a screenshot saved as PDF, holds pictures only. Satr cannot read pictures, so get the original PDF from online banking.
Locked with a password? Type it into Satr when asked. The password is used on your device to unlock the file and goes nowhere else.
Formats used in United States statements
Amounts in United States statements are typically shown in USD ($), using a dot (.) for decimals and a comma (,) to separate thousands. You will usually see dates written as MM/DD/YYYY or MM/DD.
Some statements put the month first (MM/DD/YYYY); check the date order in the preview when the day is 12 or lower. Some statements print dates without a year (for example 04/01); those rows may need the year added in Excel.
In our checks Satr read these patterns correctly; the mapper still lets you switch the number format if a file differs.
Importing into accounting software
Many people in United States work with QuickBooks and Xero. You can map the Excel or CSV columns in the import screen of those programs; Satr has no integration with them and does not claim any.
Honest status for Charles Schwab
Charles Schwab has not been individually tested with Satr.
The parser is generic and reads text-based PDFs. Layouts we have tested so far: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).
Satr is not affiliated with Charles Schwab and is not endorsed by it.
Your Charles Schwab PDF stays on your device
Satr reads the file locally. There is no upload, no account, and nothing from the statement is stored on a server. You can confirm it with your browser's developer tools.
