Federal Bank in India
If you bank with Federal Bank in India, the PDF bank statement is the file you start from; Satr turns its transaction table into a spreadsheet.
The public list we used describes Federal Bank as a private bank. Its headquarters are in Kochi. You can find it online at federal.bank.in. The source lists 1931 as its founding year.
Download your bank statement from Federal Bank as a PDF
In the Federal Bank app or website, open the account you need and look for a statement or transaction history option; if it can be saved as PDF, save it. We do not describe exact menus, because they change; search the help section of Federal Bank for “bank statement” if you cannot find it.
What the PDF must contain
A PDF that you download from online banking normally has a real text layer, and Satr can read its rows. You can test this by trying to select text in the PDF.
Scanned pages and photos saved as PDF are images. Satr does not do OCR, so it will tell you there is no text.
Locked with a password? Type it into Satr when asked. The password is used on your device to unlock the file and goes nowhere else.
India: numbers, dates and currency
Amounts in India statements are typically shown in INR (₹), using a dot (.) for decimals and a comma (,) to separate thousands. Dates commonly look like DD/MM/YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY, or DD-Mon-YYYY.
Indian digit grouping such as 12,34,567.00 is common; Satr removes the commas correctly when it reads the number. Debit and credit can be marked with Dr and Cr after the amount; Satr reads Dr as a negative number. Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.
Satr recognised these number and date patterns in our own checks, and you can still change the number format and column roles before exporting.
Using the Excel file in Tally, Zoho Books, and QuickBooks
If you use Tally, Zoho Books, and QuickBooks, open the exported XLSX or CSV and match its columns in the program's import screen. There is no connection between Satr and these tools.
Tested or not?
Federal Bank has not been individually tested with Satr.
Satr works with text-based PDFs. Layouts tested so far: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).
Satr is not affiliated with Federal Bank. Federal Bank is named only to describe the PDF you bring.
