Fifth Third Bank in United States

If you bank with Fifth Third Bank in United States, the PDF bank statement is the file you start from; Satr turns its transaction table into a spreadsheet.

The bank is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. You can find it online at 53.com.

Download your bank statement from Fifth Third Bank as a PDF

In the Fifth Third Bank app or website, open the account you need and look for a statement or transaction history option; if it can be saved as PDF, save it. We do not describe exact menus, because they change; search the help section of Fifth Third Bank for “bank statement” if you cannot find it.

What the PDF must contain

A PDF that you download from online banking normally has a real text layer, and Satr can read its rows. You can test this by trying to select text in the PDF.

A scan or a photo of a paper statement has no text layer, and Satr has no OCR, so it cannot read it. Download the PDF again from online banking instead.

Locked with a password? Type it into Satr when asked. The password is used on your device to unlock the file and goes nowhere else.

United States: numbers, dates and currency

In United States, amounts are normally written in USD ($); the decimal mark is a dot (.) and the thousands separator is a comma (,). You will usually see dates written as MM/DD/YYYY or MM/DD.

Some statements put the month first (MM/DD/YYYY); check the date order in the preview when the day is 12 or lower. Some statements print dates without a year (for example 04/01); those rows may need the year added in Excel.

Satr recognised these number and date patterns in our own checks, and you can still change the number format and column roles before exporting.

Using the Excel file in QuickBooks and Xero

If you use QuickBooks and Xero, open the exported XLSX or CSV and match its columns in the program's import screen. There is no connection between Satr and these tools.

Tested or not?

Fifth Third Bank is not in our list of individually tested banks.

Satr works with text-based PDFs. Layouts tested so far: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).

Satr is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Fifth Third Bank. The bank is named only so you know which PDF this page is about.

Privacy: nothing is uploaded

The PDF is opened with pdf.js in your browser. Account numbers, names and transactions are not sent to a server, and you can check that in the Network tab of your browser. Apart from anonymous page-view counters (event name, language, page path, referrer kind), only if you pay are the plan and a payment reference sent.
