Working with your MCB Bank PDF

If you bank with MCB Bank in Pakistan, the PDF bank statement is the file you start from; Satr turns its transaction table into a spreadsheet.

The public list we used describes MCB Bank as a private bank. Its headquarters are in Lahore. You can find it online at mcb.com.pk.

Where to find the PDF at MCB Bank

Sign in to MCB Bank online banking or the app and look for the bank statement, e-statement or account activity section. Pick the account and the period, and choose PDF as the format. Menu names differ by bank and change over time, so use the PDF option your own screen offers.

PDF types Satr can read

A PDF that you download from online banking normally has a real text layer, and Satr can read its rows. You can test this by trying to select text in the PDF.

A scan or a photo of a paper statement has no text layer, and Satr has no OCR, so it cannot read it. Download the PDF again from online banking instead.

Password-protected PDFs open after you type the password in your browser. Neither the password nor the file goes to a server.

Formats used in Pakistan statements

Statements in Pakistan usually show amounts in PKR (Rs) with a dot (.) as the decimal mark and a comma (,) as the thousands separator. Dates commonly look like DD/MM/YYYY or DD-Mon-YYYY.

Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.

In our checks Satr read these patterns correctly; the mapper still lets you switch the number format if a file differs.

Importing into accounting software

If you use QuickBooks, Xero, and Tally, open the exported XLSX or CSV and match its columns in the program's import screen. There is no connection between Satr and these tools.

MCB Bank is not in our list of individually tested banks.

Privacy: nothing is uploaded

Satr reads the file locally. There is no upload, no account, and nothing from the statement is stored on a server. You can confirm it with your browser's developer tools.
