What to expect from your Metrobank statement
Customers of Metrobank in Philippines typically get their bank statement as a PDF, and that PDF is what Satr reads.
You can find it online at metrobank.com.ph.
How to get the PDF bank statement from Metrobank
Ask Metrobank online banking for the bank statement of the account and period you need and download it as a PDF. If a PDF is not offered, the branch or the bank's support can usually provide one.
Which PDFs work
PDF statements generated by a bank system contain selectable text. Those are the files Satr is built for.
A PDF made by scanning paper, or a screenshot saved as PDF, holds pictures only. Satr cannot read pictures, so get the original PDF from online banking.
Password-protected PDFs open after you type the password in your browser. Neither the password nor the file goes to a server.
Reading Philippines amounts and dates
Amounts in Philippines statements are typically shown in PHP (₱), using a dot (.) for decimals and a comma (,) to separate thousands. Dates commonly look like MM/DD/YYYY or DD-Mon-YYYY.
Some statements put the month first (MM/DD/YYYY); check the date order in the preview when the day is 12 or lower. Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.
We checked sample values in these formats against the shipped parser and they were read correctly; you stay in control, because the number format can be changed in the preview.
Importing into accounting software
If you use QuickBooks and Xero, open the exported XLSX or CSV and match its columns in the program's import screen. There is no connection between Satr and these tools.
