About Atom Bank statements
If you bank with Atom Bank in United Kingdom, the PDF bank statement is the file you start from; Satr turns its transaction table into a spreadsheet.
Atom Bank is described as a digital bank, which usually means statements are exported from the app. Its headquarters are in Durham. Its website domain is atombank.co.uk. Founded in 2013.
Getting the PDF out of Atom Bank
Open the bank statement area of Atom Bank online banking or its app, select the account and the date range, then save or export the result as PDF. Where exactly this sits depends on the bank's current design, so follow the labels on your own screen.
Text PDFs, scans and password-protected files
PDF statements generated by a bank system contain selectable text. Those are the files Satr is built for.
A scan or a photo of a paper statement has no text layer, and Satr has no OCR, so it cannot read it. Download the PDF again from online banking instead.
Password-protected PDFs open after you type the password in your browser. Neither the password nor the file goes to a server.
How United Kingdom amounts and dates are handled
In United Kingdom, amounts are normally written in GBP (£); the decimal mark is a dot (.) and the thousands separator is a comma (,). You will usually see dates written as DD/MM/YYYY or DD Mon YYYY.
Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.
In our checks Satr read these patterns correctly; the mapper still lets you switch the number format if a file differs.
Using the Excel file in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and FreeAgent
Many people in United Kingdom work with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and FreeAgent. You can map the Excel or CSV columns in the import screen of those programs; Satr has no integration with them and does not claim any.
What has been tested
Atom Bank has not been individually tested with Satr.
Satr reads text-based PDFs with a generic parser. So far we have tested these layouts: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).
Satr is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Atom Bank. The bank is named only so you know which PDF this page is about.
Your Atom Bank PDF stays on your device
Nothing in your statement is uploaded. Satr runs inside your browser tab, so the PDF, the rows and the exported file stay on your device.
