What to expect from your Equitable Bank statement

Equitable Bank is a bank in Canada, and its customers usually download a bank statement as a PDF from online banking or the mobile app.

The public list we used describes Equitable Bank as a private bank. Its headquarters are in Toronto. You can find it online at equitablebank.ca.

How to get the PDF bank statement from Equitable Bank

Ask Equitable Bank online banking for the bank statement of the account and period you need and download it as a PDF. If a PDF is not offered, the branch or the bank's support can usually provide one.

Which PDFs work

When the bank generates the PDF itself, the text inside is real text, not a picture. Satr reads that text layer and rebuilds the rows from it.

A PDF made by scanning paper, or a screenshot saved as PDF, holds pictures only. Satr cannot read pictures, so get the original PDF from online banking.

Locked with a password? Type it into Satr when asked. The password is used on your device to unlock the file and goes nowhere else.

Reading Canada amounts and dates

In Canada, amounts are normally written in CAD ($); the decimal mark is a dot (.) and the thousands separator is a comma (,). Dates commonly look like YYYY-MM-DD or MM/DD/YYYY.

Banks in the same country do not all use the same number format, so check the number format option in the preview. Some statements put the month first (MM/DD/YYYY); check the date order in the preview when the day is 12 or lower.

Satr recognised these number and date patterns in our own checks, and you can still change the number format and column roles before exporting.

Importing into accounting software

If you use QuickBooks, Sage 50, and Xero, open the exported XLSX or CSV and match its columns in the program's import screen. There is no connection between Satr and these tools.

Status of Equitable Bank in Satr

Equitable Bank has not been individually tested with Satr.

Satr reads text-based PDFs with a generic parser. So far we have tested these layouts: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).

Satr is not affiliated with Equitable Bank and is not endorsed by it.

Your Equitable Bank PDF stays on your device

The PDF is opened with pdf.js in your browser. Account numbers, names and transactions are not sent to a server, and you can check that in the Network tab of your browser. Apart from anonymous page-view counters (event name, language, page path, referrer kind), only if you pay are the plan and a payment reference sent.
