About VPBank statements
If you bank with VPBank in Vietnam, the PDF bank statement (sao kê) is the file you start from; Satr turns its transaction table into a spreadsheet.
The bank is headquartered in Hanoi. The bank's web address is vpbank.com.vn. It is also known locally as Ngân hàng TMCP Việt Nam Thịnh vượng, which is the name you may see on a PDF header.
Getting the PDF out of VPBank
Open the bank statement (sao kê) area of VPBank online banking or its app, select the account and the date range, then save or export the result as PDF. Where exactly this sits depends on the bank's current design, so follow the labels on your own screen.
Text PDFs, scans and password-protected files
When the bank generates the PDF itself, the text inside is real text, not a picture. Satr reads that text layer and rebuilds the rows from it.
A PDF made by scanning paper, or a screenshot saved as PDF, holds pictures only. Satr cannot read pictures, so get the original PDF from online banking.
Password-protected PDFs open after you type the password in your browser. Neither the password nor the file goes to a server.
How Vietnam amounts and dates are handled
Statements in Vietnam usually show amounts in VND (₫) with a comma (,) as the decimal mark and a dot (.) as the thousands separator. A typical date format is DD/MM/YYYY.
Whole-number amounts with dots as thousands separators, such as 1.234.567, are common; check that the preview shows them as whole numbers. Because the decimal mark is a comma, the preview shows whether Satr chose the right number format, and you can switch it.
In our checks Satr read these patterns correctly; the mapper still lets you switch the number format if a file differs.
Using the Excel file in MISA, FAST, and Bravo
Accounting packages used in Vietnam, such as MISA, FAST, and Bravo, let you import spreadsheet files. Export from Satr as XLSX or CSV and match the columns there; Satr is not connected to those programs.

The PDF is opened with pdf.js in your browser. Account numbers, names and transactions are not sent to a server, and you can check that in the Network tab of your browser. Apart from anonymous page-view counters (event name, language, page path, referrer kind), only if you pay are the plan and a payment reference sent.
