Working with your BRAC Bank PDF
If you bank with BRAC Bank in Bangladesh, the PDF bank statement is the file you start from; Satr turns its transaction table into a spreadsheet.
BRAC Bank is listed as a privately owned bank. Its website domain is bracbank.com.
Where to find the PDF at BRAC Bank
Sign in to BRAC Bank online banking or the app and look for the bank statement, e-statement or account activity section. Pick the account and the period, and choose PDF as the format. Menu names differ by bank and change over time, so use the PDF option your own screen offers.
PDF types Satr can read
A PDF that you download from online banking normally has a real text layer, and Satr can read its rows. You can test this by trying to select text in the PDF.
A scan or a photo of a paper statement has no text layer, and Satr has no OCR, so it cannot read it. Download the PDF again from online banking instead.
Locked with a password? Type it into Satr when asked. The password is used on your device to unlock the file and goes nowhere else.
Formats used in Bangladesh statements
In Bangladesh, amounts are normally written in BDT (৳); the decimal mark is a dot (.) and the thousands separator is a comma (,). Dates commonly look like DD/MM/YYYY or DD-Mon-YYYY.
Indian digit grouping such as 12,34,567.00 is common; Satr removes the commas correctly when it reads the number. Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.
In our checks Satr read these patterns correctly; the mapper still lets you switch the number format if a file differs.
Importing into accounting software
If you use Tally and QuickBooks, open the exported XLSX or CSV and match its columns in the program's import screen. There is no connection between Satr and these tools.

Questions
Can I convert my BRAC Bank statement PDF to Excel?
Download the statement as a PDF, open it in Satr and map the columns. The status section on this page says what has and has not been tested.
Is my BRAC Bank statement uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is processed in your browser with pdf.js, and nothing from it is sent to a server.
Is Satr connected to BRAC Bank?
No. Satr is an independent tool and is not affiliated with BRAC Bank.
Will a dot (.) and a comma (,) in my BRAC Bank amounts be read correctly?
Satr detects the number format from the file and shows it in the preview (a dot (.) as decimal mark, a comma (,) for thousands is typical in Bangladesh); you can switch it before exporting.
