About Rupali Bank statements

Rupali Bank is a bank in Bangladesh, and its customers usually download a bank statement as a PDF from online banking or the mobile app.

According to the public list we used, Rupali Bank is state-owned. The bank is headquartered in Dhaka. You can find it online at rupalibank.org.

Getting the PDF out of Rupali Bank

Open the bank statement area of Rupali Bank online banking or its app, select the account and the date range, then save or export the result as PDF. Where exactly this sits depends on the bank's current design, so follow the labels on your own screen.

Text PDFs, scans and password-protected files

A PDF that you download from online banking normally has a real text layer, and Satr can read its rows. You can test this by trying to select text in the PDF.

Scanned pages and photos saved as PDF are images. Satr does not do OCR, so it will tell you there is no text.

Password-protected PDFs open after you type the password in your browser. Neither the password nor the file goes to a server.

How Bangladesh amounts and dates are handled

Amounts in Bangladesh statements are typically shown in BDT (৳), using a dot (.) for decimals and a comma (,) to separate thousands. You will usually see dates written as DD/MM/YYYY or DD-Mon-YYYY.

Indian digit grouping such as 12,34,567.00 is common; Satr removes the commas correctly when it reads the number. Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.

We checked sample values in these formats against the shipped parser and they were read correctly; you stay in control, because the number format can be changed in the preview.

Using the Excel file in Tally and QuickBooks

Many people in Bangladesh work with Tally and QuickBooks. You can map the Excel or CSV columns in the import screen of those programs; Satr has no integration with them and does not claim any.

What has been tested

Rupali Bank has not been individually tested with Satr.

Satr works with text-based PDFs. Layouts tested so far: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).

Satr is not affiliated with Rupali Bank and is not endorsed by it.

Privacy: nothing is uploaded

The PDF is opened with pdf.js in your browser. Account numbers, names and transactions are not sent to a server, and you can check that in the Network tab of your browser. Apart from anonymous page-view counters (event name, language, page path, referrer kind), only if you pay are the plan and a payment reference sent.
