City Bank in Bangladesh
If you bank with City Bank in Bangladesh, the PDF bank statement is the file you start from; Satr turns its transaction table into a spreadsheet.
The public list we used describes City Bank as a private bank.
Download your bank statement from City Bank as a PDF
In the City Bank app or website, open the account you need and look for a statement or transaction history option; if it can be saved as PDF, save it. We do not describe exact menus, because they change; search the help section of City Bank for “bank statement” if you cannot find it.
What the PDF must contain
PDF statements generated by a bank system contain selectable text. Those are the files Satr is built for.
A scan or a photo of a paper statement has no text layer, and Satr has no OCR, so it cannot read it. Download the PDF again from online banking instead.
If the PDF is password-protected, Satr asks for the password and opens it locally; the password is not sent anywhere.
Bangladesh: numbers, dates and currency
Amounts in Bangladesh statements are typically shown in BDT (৳), using a dot (.) for decimals and a comma (,) to separate thousands. You will usually see dates written as DD/MM/YYYY or DD-Mon-YYYY.
Indian digit grouping such as 12,34,567.00 is common; Satr removes the commas correctly when it reads the number. Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.
We checked sample values in these formats against the shipped parser and they were read correctly; you stay in control, because the number format can be changed in the preview.
Using the Excel file in Tally and QuickBooks
If you use Tally and QuickBooks, open the exported XLSX or CSV and match its columns in the program's import screen. There is no connection between Satr and these tools.
Tested or not?
No statement from City Bank has been tested individually yet.
The parser is generic and reads text-based PDFs. Layouts we have tested so far: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).
Satr is not affiliated with City Bank and is not endorsed by it.
Your City Bank PDF stays on your device
The PDF is opened with pdf.js in your browser. Account numbers, names and transactions are not sent to a server, and you can check that in the Network tab of your browser. Apart from anonymous page-view counters (event name, language, page path, referrer kind), only if you pay are the plan and a payment reference sent.
