Working with your Sonali Bank PDF
Sonali Bank is a bank in Bangladesh, and its customers usually download a bank statement as a PDF from online banking or the mobile app.
Sonali Bank is described as a state-owned bank in the public list we checked. Its headquarters are in Dhaka. Its website domain is sonalibank.com.bd.
Where to find the PDF at Sonali Bank
Sign in to Sonali Bank online banking or the app and look for the bank statement, e-statement or account activity section. Pick the account and the period, and choose PDF as the format. Menu names differ by bank and change over time, so use the PDF option your own screen offers.
PDF types Satr can read
PDF statements generated by a bank system contain selectable text. Those are the files Satr is built for.
A scan or a photo of a paper statement has no text layer, and Satr has no OCR, so it cannot read it. Download the PDF again from online banking instead.
Locked with a password? Type it into Satr when asked. The password is used on your device to unlock the file and goes nowhere else.
Formats used in Bangladesh statements
Statements in Bangladesh usually show amounts in BDT (৳) with a dot (.) as the decimal mark and a comma (,) as the thousands separator. Dates commonly look like DD/MM/YYYY or DD-Mon-YYYY.
Indian digit grouping such as 12,34,567.00 is common; Satr removes the commas correctly when it reads the number. Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.
Satr recognised these number and date patterns in our own checks, and you can still change the number format and column roles before exporting.
Importing into accounting software
Accounting packages used in Bangladesh, such as Tally and QuickBooks, let you import spreadsheet files. Export from Satr as XLSX or CSV and match the columns there; Satr is not connected to those programs.
