Working with your UBL PDF
If you bank with UBL in Pakistan, the PDF bank statement is the file you start from; Satr turns its transaction table into a spreadsheet.
UBL is listed as a privately owned bank. Its headquarters are in Karachi.
Where to find the PDF at UBL
Sign in to UBL online banking or the app and look for the bank statement, e-statement or account activity section. Pick the account and the period, and choose PDF as the format. Menu names differ by bank and change over time, so use the PDF option your own screen offers.
PDF types Satr can read
A PDF that you download from online banking normally has a real text layer, and Satr can read its rows. You can test this by trying to select text in the PDF.
Scanned pages and photos saved as PDF are images. Satr does not do OCR, so it will tell you there is no text.
Locked with a password? Type it into Satr when asked. The password is used on your device to unlock the file and goes nowhere else.
Formats used in Pakistan statements
Amounts in Pakistan statements are typically shown in PKR (Rs), using a dot (.) for decimals and a comma (,) to separate thousands. Dates commonly look like DD/MM/YYYY or DD-Mon-YYYY.
Dates with month names, such as 01-Apr-2025, are recognised in English; month names in other languages may need a manual check.
Satr recognised these number and date patterns in our own checks, and you can still change the number format and column roles before exporting.
Importing into accounting software
If you use QuickBooks, Xero, and Tally, open the exported XLSX or CSV and match its columns in the program's import screen. There is no connection between Satr and these tools.
Honest status for UBL
No statement from UBL has been tested individually yet.
The parser is generic and reads text-based PDFs. Layouts we have tested so far: 5 synthetic sample statements of fictional banks (Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian).
Satr is not affiliated with UBL and is not endorsed by it.
Your UBL PDF stays on your device
Satr reads the file locally. There is no upload, no account, and nothing from the statement is stored on a server. You can confirm it with your browser's developer tools.

Is my UBL statement uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is processed in your browser with pdf.js, and nothing from it is sent to a server.
Is Satr connected to UBL?
No. Satr is an independent tool and is not affiliated with UBL.
Can I convert a whole year of UBL statements?

You can map the exported columns in the import screen of those programs. Satr has no integration with them, so check the import rules of your own software.
